Planware Systems, LLC was formed on April 1, 1996
from the Planning Software Division of Educational
Data Systems (EDS). Planware Systems, LLC has inherited from EDS an
extensive line of administrative software products, an experienced staff,
and ongoing sales and customer maintenance contracts.
Bill Gilmore started Educational Data Systems in the
fall of 1973. From the beginning, the focus of EDS was providing software
for facilities planning and educational assessment.
The Planning division of EDS developed and supported
school district facility planning, enrollment forecasting and student
demographics and was based on the product ONPASS®. The transportation
planning software, DISPATCH™, was added to the suite of products in early
1990.
Today, Planware Systems, LLC develops a single integrated
product called MasterPlan; a software package that will free school district
staff of the time-consuming manual procedures in boundary and demographic
planning, establishing optimal bus routes and schedules consistent with
district policies.
